Today and Forever: A Narrative Coloring Book, Out NOW!
It is National Crafting Month, and while I myself have no talent for using my hands with sewing needles or crochet hooks, I so admire the people in my family who are talented crafters. In this blog, I am introducing everyone to my niece Devonne Hill, who for quite some time has shared her beautiful knitted and hand-sewn items with family, friends, and even on social media through YouTube and an online store.

It’s women’s history month. As you celebrate women internationally and across the United States who have made significant contributions to the world in so many areas of science, education, and so much more, remember. There are women right now making history right now in your life. You, right now, are making the history of your life.
Elizabeth Barret Browning is my favorite poet. If you would like to learn more about her, I suggest you read her book, Sonnets of the Portuguese. In this book, there are many other sonnets that will capture the essence of the love story between her, and her famous poet husband, Robert Browning. You will also learn more about the interesting way they met; first through written correspondence, then through personal visits in her home, where she was described as “somewhat of an invalid.” With many difficulties to her health, yet she and Robert Browning fell in love. Then she went on to write both marvelous and intimate work, supporting and encouraging each other in their life’s time together.

When I held my newborn daughter in my arms for the first time, all I could think about was how much I loved her. She is a gift from God. I did not carefully analyze the color of her skin. I refuse to give meaning to something as meaningless in my eyes as skin color or race.Â
Today, February 28th, marks Rare Eye Disease Day. It is a chance to bring awareness to the variety of conditions that can and do impact people’s sight. However, it’s not so rare to have problems with your eyes. Tomorrow begins Save Your Vision Month. So many of us are going to experience age-related conditions like cataracts and macular degeneration. Start now, especially if you are young, to love your eyes, take care of them, and pay attention to visual indicators of something that might be going awry. You may be able to prevent eye problems in the future.
