About Debra Hill

Ephesians 3:20-21

“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

God will do exceedingly, above and beyond anything you can ask or think. With God, you know you have love in your life. God’s Love is above what you can imagine in your Mind’s Eye, exceptional, unique, boundless, multi-dimensional, abundant love. Accessible to all. You have abundant love, you are worthy and it should not be withheld, it is for the giving and for the taking.

Embark on a journey through my vibrant worldโ€”a world painted with the strokes of words, the cadence of inspiration, and the harmony of music. I am a blind writer, motivational speaker, and musician who finds purpose in sharing stories, spreading positivity, and creating melodies that resonate with the heart and soul.

The Commitment to Self, โ€œI DO!โ€ Womenโ€™s Conference

I had a fabulous time at the Commitment to Self, โ€œI DO!โ€ Womenโ€™s Conference on Saturday, January 11th. Sharing my testimony in words, vision, and music with over 50 women was truly a blessing! I hope that each attendee heard something that will encourage them to find strength and faith to face lifeโ€™s difficult challenges, knowing Godโ€™s abundant love is available to everyone.

I personally want to thank Michelle Moore, founder of Positive Advantage and the nonprofit Be Bold. Be Brave. Believe. and her team for reaching out and asking me to be the keynote speaker for her first annual womenโ€™s conference. She, along with the other speakers, shared words of encouragement, strength, and positivity!

WORDS to INSPIRE

In the realm of the written word, my imagination knows no bounds. Despite my visual impairment, I believe words have the power to paint pictures in the minds of readers. Through my words, I strive to break down barriers and shed light on the beauty of diversity and the strength of the human spirit.

  • Debra Hill shares her experience using Gazettaโ€™s new accessibility feature!
Gazetta is now accessible to the visually impaired.
  • Holy Place of Praise
Even if I never make it to this great city, I thank God that Jesus said to the woman at the well that one day we will worship God in a temple not made with hands. Today, I can worship my amazing God in spirit and in truth. God says He inhabits the praises of His people. So where we are gathered together in joyful praise, He is there amongst us. Hallelujah.ย
  • Loud Praise
Give the Lord God Almighty exuberant, joyful and loud acclimations of praise. Let all the earth unite in spiritual, physical and emotional gestures to exalt our God. Oh, clap your hands all ye people.
  • Help is Here
This is the way David feels about his God, who is a very present help in times of trouble. He reminds me that, first and foremost, I can call on the Lord any time, day or night, and He will always be my refuge and strength. He will calm my fears and trembling heart. Lord, help me to put my faith and trust in you, knowing that I can be still and rely on your power to save me in my times of need.
  • The Look of Love
Jesus’ love and sacrifice on the cross for us brings me to grateful tears. His character revealed in the scriptures, through His words and works, show His humble, giving and gracious heart. Each day, I thank Him for His unwavering love for me. I love Him because He first loved me.
  • Victory in God
I thank God that when times get rough, I am reminded that we overcome by the blood of the lamb and the words of our testimony. So many times I have been uplifted and find hope and renewed faith when I hear the testimony of believers boasting of God’s blessings. I know that God never fails and He is always on time, though I must learn to wait on Him. He has never lost a battle.
  • Our Exceeding Joy
As I go through each day, facing many challenges, I will remind myself of Davidโ€™s attitude and ask myself, โ€œWhy am I discouraged when I know I can cast my cares on the Lord.โ€ Davidโ€™s confidence came from his personal experience with God as his Deliverer and Provider. He did it before and He will do it again. I thank you, God, that you are a very present help in my times of trouble. Your praise shall be continually in my mouth.
  • A Medical Advocacy Moment
I am thrilled that the nurse practitioner was so willing to listen and understand and support the needs of the patients that she sees every day in her office with visual impairments. It is my hope that more physicians’ offices will work in conjunction with these organizations to assist the total well-being of their clients.
  • Hope in the Storm
Recently, I was hospitalized for several days. It was a time of pain, confusion and uncertainty. Like David, I cried out to the lord for his comfort and presence. I put my faith and hope in the healing power of Jesus, knowing and recalling the many times he has healed me before. I felt the Spiritโ€™s comforting peace throughout the long, dark nights. I never stopped praising God for who he is and all I know he can do. I thank god that I am healed today.
  • Lifting the Lowly
In Psalm 41, David reminds us how God extends mercy to us, even when we are poor and weak in our trespasses and sins. How much more gracious then, should we be to provide mercy and grace to those in need. May I always remember how God saved me from darkness and brought me to His marvelous light. I want to share the news of this blessing with others, which is of greater value to the poor in spirit than silver or gold.
  • Is My Living In Vain?
I know that only what I do for God will last for eternity. We are told to set our affections on things above, not on things below that man can steal or moths destroy. I ask the Lord to help me remember what is truly important. Life is too short. Make every day count.
  • Godly Sorrow
When I first became convicted of my sin, I felt like David did in Psalm 38. In my heart, I confessed to God that I was a sinner, guilty as charged. I was saved by Godโ€™s amazing grace, who took my place and died for my sins on Calvaryโ€™s cross. I knew I was not deserving of such a great love and sacrifice as this. I believed in Jesus and thanked Him, like David, for delivering me from sin. I thank God daily for salvation and ask Him to forgive me, with godly sorrow.
  • Do Not Fret
Through the tough times in my life, the joy of the Lord strengthens me. This passage also assures me that all my needs are met. Jesus lovingly said that we donโ€™t have to worry about what we will eat or what clothes to wear. God cares more for us than the birds of the field or the beautifully adorned lilies. I know my heavenly Father is watching over me. The more I experience the lifeโ€™s sorrows, the more like David I have learned that I am never forsaken.
  • Never Forsaken
In Psalm 36, David compares and contrasts Godโ€™s relationship with those who are righteous with His harsh treatment of them who are wicked. David speaks from his own personal experience and from what he has witnessed in the lives of saints and sinners.
  • God of War and Love
David was a king acquainted with war. In Psalm 35, he speaks in the vernacular of a warrior and leader accustomed to facing many enemies on the battlefield. This chapter is his courageous prayer to God to lead him to total victory against his oppressors. He is equally unyielding in his call for their destruction and in his faith in God to perform it.
  • 24/7 Praise
Psalm 34 is a testimony of praise to God for His continuous help to us. He is deserving of blessings twenty-four hours a day. He delivers us from dangers seen and unseen. His angels guard and encamp around us, defending us from evil. The scripture says โ€œI will overcome by the blood of the lamb and the words of my testimonyโ€. This is true for us all.
