Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! In this article, I want to recognize my former teacher and Other Mother, Mrs. Aretha Jackson. She is a superwoman.

I have known her since I was an 11-year-old girl in her sixth-grade classroom. Her influence on my life as a teacher has been priceless. Throughout the years, Mom Jackson has exhibited true interest in not only my academic success, but also my personal achievements in life. Some teachers go above and beyond the educational environment to shape the minds and hearts of their students. Even today, she continues to receive letters, cards, phone calls and gifts from her previous students who, like me, want to show how much we love and appreciate her dedication to us.
