Even though I cannot see your smile, when I hear the lovely, warm, welcoming tone of your voice, I know you are smiling at me. Of course, I smile back at you.Keep smiling and enjoy this lyrical reminder from Kirk Franklin.
David begins this Psalm with a thanks to God for His mercy. I also thank God that I can come boldly to His throne of grace to obtain mercy, especially when I fall short of righteousness. I know that He shines His light on me and that He has set me apart to be in a relationship with Him.
Stay safe while you splish and splash your way into summer! May is National Water Safety Month, and I encourage everyone from the youngest to the oldest to learn all about being safe in and around the water, whether it be in a pool or at an oceanside beach. Enjoy wading in the water, swimming…
This award was presented on Thursday, May 8th, at Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School. We were pleased to join other award organizations that presented scholarships and certificates of recognition to outstanding graduates. Please read and admire Brielle’s submission, which made her the top choice of this year’s pool.
I’m so pleased to represent our organization (American Council of the Blind of Virginia) during the Virginia Voice Guide and Stride. Stop by the ACBVA table during the conference to meet me and learn more about the mission, vision, and advocacy work of ACBVA.
Age doesn’t matter to a dog! Isn’t Bentley cute? Thank you all for the birthday wishes!
One thing I admire about King David is that he exudes almost every emotion possible. In Psalm chapter three, he describes disdain for the thousands of enemies who surround him, then tells how he cried out to the Lord for help.
I face my birthday with jubilation. I throw my hands in the air and dance around the room, shouting for joy and singing. I am just so happy to be alive and blessed. My faith in God will continue to sustain me throughout the days of my life, and keep me singing my song, “Celebrate My Birthday!” I thank you all for your well-wishes for me today and always.
If I were a king, I would consider Psalm chapter two to be a personal warning to me about the way I rule over my kingdom. The verses admonish kings to be wise leaders, serving with reverence for God. Ultimately, Jesus, the King of kings, will be given dominion over the people and all the earth. God will hold kings accountable for the way they lead. As Shakespeare said, “Heavy is the head that wears the crown.”
