Lights Camera Action: See and hear the Grammys this Sunday
Live audio description is a tool for people who are blind or have low vision that provides access to the visual aspects of theater, media, and visual art.
Like me, music lovers will be glued to their TVs to watch the Grammy Awards. While I will enjoy listening to the awesome variety of music genres presented, I am unable to see the artists. I would love to know about their fabulous outfits & cool dance moves they perform on stage. The exciting news is that those who are blind or have low vision can fully participate in this awesome event via live audio description this Sunday, February 4, provided by Audio Eyes and VITAC,
According to Virginia Voice, live audio description, “is a tool for people who are blind or have low vision that provides access to the visual aspects of theater, media and visual art – and any activity where images are a critical element. Through Live Audio Description we marry the critical visual elements with the dialogue to create a memorable audio experience.”

Live audio description makes visual arts and entertainment more accessible for those who are blind and have low vision.

The American Council of the Blind (ACB) recently hosted an Audio Description Awards Gala to recognize achievement in audio description in entertainment and educational media. The Awards Gala featured celebrity guests, film clips, and multiple award categories. Click here for more information.
